Haven’t Posted in a While – Update
I’ve been really busy lately between final exams and new projects, but here’s a quick update on what I’ve been up to lately:
- Cramming for Finals
Yesterday marked the start of finals week, so I’m trying learn everything that I was supposed to learn all semester. I think it’s going alright so far, even though I’ve had a horrible time motivating myself to study.
- Revising PSO
I’ve been going over a ton of the articles at PokerSite.org to add in promotions, revise grammar mistakes, throw in images, and basically just fix everything up. This is taking way longer than I thought, because I’ve had to redo almost every page and there’s over 200 already.
- New PSU Site
My friend Chuck and I have a pretty cool site coming out that is Penn State specific. It has two parts:
First – a student guide that has articles aimed at the student body, such as tips for test taking, apartment maintenance, learning the bus system, and tips for throwing a party. This will probably end up with over 100 articles, because there’s so much to write about.
Second – venue reviews such as apartment reviews, hotel reviews, and restaurant reviews. We want to rank #1 for terms such as “State College Hotels” and then sell advertising space to local hotels.
This site should be interesting, as it’s my first real venture into anything outside of gambling affiliating. It’s been a lot of fun so far, and I want to thank MikeBrad for helping us with the WordPress theme. The site isn’t quite ready yet, but I’ll link to it soon from this blog.
- New Niche Sites
I’ve also been making a few niche specific gambling sites that are targeting high-converting terms. It should be interesting to see how these rank, as they’re not going to have much content or many links pointing towards them.
Alright, back to work. I’ll get some better posts up starting next week once I’m on break.

I use the Google Adwords tool – located here:
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
If you select “Exact Match” it gives you a fairly accurate description of how many searches there are for that term per month. Plus, it gives you additional recommendations for keywords.
