I made a pretty big mistake with one of my sites last year, and wanted to share so others wouldn’t do the same thing. I have an exact match poker domain (if you know me I’m sure you can guess the site), and I really went all out with it to get a #1 ranking. I invested a ton of money into content and advertising, and now I’m #1 on most data centers.

However, I regret doing this because I think I could have gotten the #1 ranking with a lot less money invested. Now I’m going to have to wait a few months to see a profit on the site.

I’ve got a new casino site coming out within the next few days that is following almost the exact same business model as the poker one I just mentioned (exact match domain, targeted keyword, lots of content, etc), and I plan on taking it easy with that unless I realize I absolutely need to go on a spending frenzy. We’ll see how it goes.

I apologize for not posting recently as I’ve been really lazy and haven’t gotten much done. However, I’m starting a new 30 day goal today so I’ll post the specifics on that this afternoon. That should keep me motivated and should get me posting more.

Also, I’ll be in Cancun for CAP Spring Break if anyone wants to meet up. Kyle Healey and myself will be there, and I have a feeling it’s going to be a wild time.
